Take back control of why and when you drink.

1:1 coaching for men who suspect alcohol is taking more than it gives. No labels. No rock bottom. No white-knuckling. Just a clear head, more energy and the control to choose.

Break the pattern with a Tactical Break, and feel the difference for yourself.

The middle lane

Still performing. Not fully present.

You're respected at work and you'd never call it a problem. But the drinks have crept into more nights than you planned, and the people at home are getting the leftover version of you.

It's not that bad. I'm still doing well by all accounts. The justification

The people who matter most are getting 70% of you. You don't need a rock bottom to change that.

What we're aiming for

The triple win.

MindIn the driver's seat

Make informed choices about why and when you drink, if at all. No guilt, shame or Monday-morning remorse.

BodyStrong, fit and healthy

Better sleep, more energy and the conditions to build a body that lets you lead well at home and at work.

PerformanceMore of you, more often

A clear mind and a strong body make it far easier to show up as your best, at work and at home.

The alcohol puzzle

Why cutting back feels harder than it should.

Alcohol is the one drug you have to justify not taking. It's how adults are taught to relax, connect and celebrate, so most men end up with a love/hate relationship with it that they can't quite make sense of.

It's everywhere

Friday drinks, client dinners, birthdays, the footy. Saying no makes you the odd one out.

It's sold as a reward

The drink at the end of a hard week feels earned, so giving it up feels like losing something.

Its effects are misunderstood

It quietly hits your sleep, mood, stress, testosterone, weight and training. You put it down to age or a busy week.

Willpower runs out

Dry months work until they end. Then the old pattern comes straight back.

So we don't rely on willpower. We solve the puzzle, one piece at a time.

How it works

Six weeks to get back in control.

Three phases, one 60-minute 1:1 session a week, and a coach in your corner the whole way.

Phase 1

Interrupt

See the true cost alcohol is having on your performance, in and out of work. Then start your own Tactical Break, so your body feels what your mind has just learnt.

Phase 2

Reframe

Take alcohol off its pedestal. We resolve the part of you that still wants it, and line up your week with your values as a partner, father and leader.

Phase 3

Rebuild

Learn how to relax, connect and celebrate without it. The same tools I've used for six years to comfortably say no, if that's what you choose.

Alongside it

The Tough 21 Protocol™

A 7am online check-in every morning for your first 21 days, weekends included. It builds the routine and the accountability that make the first three weeks feel easy, not hard.

In the first three weeks

  • Sharper focus. More mental clarity at work, and more present at home.
  • Better sleep. Deeper, more restful nights, and mornings that start with purpose.
  • More energy. Fewer sluggish afternoons and more in the tank for training and family.

By the end of six weeks

  • You see alcohol through a different lens
  • Saying no no longer takes willpower
  • You're in control of why and when you drink
  • You're ready to put your energy, drive and focus into what your old habits held back
Why I built this

I was a middle-lane drinker too.

I never drank enough to call it a problem. I was doing what everyone around me was doing: work hard all week, drink at the weekend, and somehow start every Monday playing catch-up.

For ten years I took October off, then counted down to November. In June 2020, in lockdown with a new puppy, I took another 30-day break. Then I kept going: 100 days, then a year. I haven't had a drink since, and it's been one of the best performance decisions I've made.

Is it for you?

Built for men who want more, not less.

A good fit if you

  • Are in your 30s, 40s or 50s and doing well, but know you're not at your best
  • Drink regularly out of habit, not because you've hit a rock bottom
  • Want control of why and when you drink, not necessarily to quit forever
  • Are open to a Tactical Break while we work together

Not the right fit if you

  • Feel physically dependent on alcohol or get withdrawal symptoms when you stop (please speak to your GP first)
  • Need medical or therapeutic support
  • Are looking for a group programme

Leaving Booze Behind is my story from middle-lane drinker to alcohol-free performance coach, and what alcohol is really doing to your energy, sleep and focus.

Before you start

Questions men ask first.

I don't have a drinking problem. Will this work for me?
Yes. This isn't about labelling you. It's about performance. If you feel alcohol is holding you back in any way, even subtly, the programme gives you the tools to take control.
Do I have to stop drinking?
I'll ask you to be open to a Tactical Break while we work together, because results are much harder to hold onto without one. You choose how long. It takes around 66 days on average to form a new habit, and we'll plan how to prepare for it and handle any blips in our first session. What you do after that is your call. As Ross puts it, the aim is "complete control of why and when you drink, if at all."
Will it affect my social life?
Not in the way you think. You'll learn how to enjoy social events, client dinners and celebrations without feeling pressured to drink. Most men find they connect better when they're fully present.
I'm flat out. How will this fit in?
It's one 60-minute session a week for six weeks. In between, there's the 7am Tough 21 check-in for your first 21 days and WhatsApp support. Any homework takes no more than 10 minutes a day, and you'll get back the time and energy alcohol was taking.
Is it confidential?
Completely. I only work 1:1, with no group calls, so we can get results without fuss or fanfare.
What's included?
Six weekly 1:1 video sessions, the Tough 21 Protocol™ (a 7am check-in every morning for 21 days), an alcohol-free tracker and journal, and WhatsApp support between sessions from a coach who's been alcohol-free for six years.
