About Paul

I help you close the gap between who you are and who you can be

Hi, I'm Paul McCormack

Life & Performance Coach

Positive Psychology Specialist

6+ Years Alcohol-Free

I grew up in the West of Scotland, studied in Edinburgh, began my 15+ year corporate career in London and continued it in Sydney after moving to Australia in 2016.

I didn't set out to be a coach. In some ways, I found the profession by mistake, but it turned out to be the best career mistake I ever made (and there were a few early howlers šŸ˜†).

Today, I work with capable men and women who know they have another level to access.

I understand that frustration because, for the best part of a decade, that was me!

My career, fitness and relationships were moving along, but I often ended the week feeling I hadn't done enough. Things were fine, but I knew they could be better, and that ate away at me.

COVID-19 became the catalyst. It gave me time to stop, audit my life, and ask where I was heading. The answer was clear: there was a gap that needed closing.

I mention being 6+ years alcohol-free not to be an evangelist, but because it is a major part of my story. Without that change, I wouldn’t be a coach.

It taught me three things that shape how I coach today:

• One behaviour change can radically alter the trajectory of your life.
• Willpower and motivation are not reliable long-term strategies.
• When you change how you think and feel, you change how you perform.

Since then, I’ve invested hundreds of hours and tens of thousands of dollars into my own personal development, retraining as a Performance Coach and Positive Psychology Specialist and working with some of the top coaches in the world.

That journey led me to create my own coaching philosophy: The Think. Feel. Perform Methodā„¢.

The method follows the simple principle: the way we think affects how we feel, how we feel affects how we perform, and how we perform shapes the way we experience our lives.

I live each day with intention - hence the name of my coaching practice. In many ways, I was my first coaching client. Everything I teach and coach, IĀ  live myself.

As I approach my 40th birthday, I'm fitter, healthier, happier and more fulfilled than ever.

I coach so my clients can experience the same, no matter what stage of life they're at.

Life Coach, Paul McCormack

My Coaching Approach

Honest support

I will support you, but I will not let you hide from what you already know needs to change.

Practical action

Insight matters, but only if it changes how you live, decide and behave.

Evidence-informed, human-first

My coaching is informed by positive psychology, behaviour design, ACT and NLP methods, and always translated into practical, real-world action.

Whole-person performance

Performance is not just what you achieve. It is how you think, feel, live and show up while achieving it.
